The new committee are pleased with the success of cabaret seating, leading to a more relaxed atmosphere. The concerts are on the second weekend of each month, but will be on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
We reluctantly have had to increase the price of tickets this year to £9.00 to cover our running costs.

Tobey Kearney and Dan Jones formed DYAD Percussion Duo in 2005. They are currently in their fourth undergraduate year at RNCM and have made many appearances at concerts and festivals in the U.K.
Their repertoire ranges from Japanese composers Minoru Miki and Keiko Abe to Wayne Siegal, Steve reich and Chick Corea, along with their own arrangements from Saint-Seans and Carl von Weber. They have also premiered new works by Helen Seddon-Gray, Duncan Ward, Avner Hanani, Rob Cope, Dave Onac, Matt Sergeant and Dave Elliott.

The Dolau mixtures are a poular mixed voice choir from the local area, lead by Martin Howard. Their repertoire is vast and varied, from Stainer's crucifixion to Simon and Garfunkel; from sixteenth century madrigals to twenty-first century anthems; from folk songs to close harmony swing arrangements; from Faure's Requiem to the Hallelujah Chorus; from Great Radnor Hills to the Rythm of Life, so we can expect a vast and varied programme
For this concert The Dolau Mixtures will be joined by Emma Powell a young classical singer from Kington who will be performing solo as well as joining the choir for some of the evening.

DAVE TOWNSEND is the band's director and founder. He is a well-known singer and instrumentalist, and one of the leading researchers in west gallery and village band music. As arranger and composer, he has provided music for film, television, radio and theatre, and for numerous recording projects. With The Mellstock Band he plays concertina and fiddle, and sings.
TIM HILL is an inventive wind player and composer whose background performing on clarinet, flute, saxophone and shawm embraces early music, free improvisation, theatrical performance art and mainstream jazz. Projects have included Pandaemonium, Noise Eating Monsters and Street Band workshops. With The Mellstock Band he plays early & modern clarinets, flute and (occasionally) saxophone, and sings. (TIM HILL WILL BE UNAVAILABLE FOR THIS CONCERT AND CAROLINE BUTLER WILL TAKE HIS PLACE.
PHIL HUMPHRIES studied at Trinity College, London, and embarked on a career as a big-band trombonist with The Andy Ross Orchestra. After returning to his native Dorset, he became involved in early music, and is now one of the country's leading serpent players. He is a member of The London Serpent Trio and music-hall duo The Lost Chord, and guests regularly with various orchestras. With The Mellstock Band he plays serpent, ophicleide and trombone, and sings.
CHARLES SPICER studied at the Guildhall School and has worked widely as an actor and musician, including productions at the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He contributes regularly to world music projects for TAPS and is a member of The Oxford Waites. With The Mellstock Band he plays early & modern oboes, cor anglais and flute, and sings.
