New Radnor Community Council

Resignation of Councillor Nigel Dodman

At end of the meeting of the Community Council held on 11th May Members received the resignation of Cllr. Nigel Dodman after nearly twenty years of service on the Community Council.

Cllr. Dodman addressed the Council as follows -

It is with deep regret that I have , after some deliberation, decided to resign from New Radnor CC after tonight's meeting. I have been on the council for a very long time and hope that my time has been beneficial to the community. It has been a privilege to serve the community and represent the council.

My inability to act as a councillor to protect the Radnor Forest is just one of many reasons why I'm stepping down. Quite simply, I need more time to complete long overdue projects and spend time with scattered family.

I hope that in future the new Radnor CC will continue to be proactive in representing the interests of the community. I don't need to tell you that we are facing possibly the biggest challenges that the community has ever had to deal with, and I wish you all the very best of luck in that respect.

Thank you all for your contributions and cooperation, always conducted in a civilized and friendly manner.

Chairman, Richard Harris thanked Mr. Dodman for all his work on the Council over the years, adding that he will be sorely missed.

The Clerk will now commence the process to fill the vacancy. For formal Notice of the vacancy - click here. If no formal election is called then the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
